A Saga in Scent

Sit closer to the hearth, traveler, and listen. I will speak of a voyage not measured in leagues, but in breath and memory — the voyage of Arcane.

It begins on the cold rim of the world, where the sea gnaws at the land and the wind carries whispers from realms unseen. A black ship appears upon the horizon, its sail fat with the breath of distant storms. Each oar’s stroke is a heartbeat, steady and unyielding, bringing the vessel home. And in its belly lies the rarest of treasures: cacao — dark, bitter, and rich as night.

It was traded in a market beneath a burning sun, where the air was heavy with spice and incense, and the sound of foreign tongues curled like smoke in the ear. Roasted over embers, the cacao beans crackled and sighed, releasing their deep, smoky perfume. This was no confectioner’s sweetness, no child’s treat, but the scent of earth and fire, of journeys measured in danger.

When the longship moored in the fjord and the warriors carried their prize to the great hall, the air filled with its intoxicating breath. Warm, roasted, almost leathery, it swirled through the hall like a bard’s first words — rich with promise. Yet, like a bard’s song, it was fleeting. Cacao is a treasure that does not linger; it slips away as the first cups are raised, leaving only the echo of its presence, a ghost on the tongue and in the air.

In its wake comes the bite of black pepper, sharp as the cry of gulls at dawn, and the sacred resin of opoponax — the sweet myrrh that clings to the hands of priests and the stones of ancient altars. Together they weave a spell, both fierce and reverent, filling the hall with the scent of ritual and readiness.

As the night lengthens, the perfume deepens. Black oudh takes its throne — dark, commanding, unyielding as the prow of a warship cutting through ice. Patchouli rises from the earth like a forest after rain, damp and green, grounding the spirit to the soil of the homeland. And then comes oriental musk, soft and animalic, a cloak of fur and warmth against the bite of winter air.

By dawn, the cacao has vanished into the fabric of the hall, into the smoke-stained beams and the skins of those who feasted. But its memory endures, as all rare treasures do — not in sight or scent, but in the quiet knowledge of having once possessed it.

This is Arcane: a fragrance not worn lightly, but carried like a saga upon the skin. It is the scent of fire and salt, of fleeting sweetness and enduring strength, of treasures found at the world’s edge and the shadows that guard them. Wear it, and you carry not just a perfume, but a legend.

Our fragrances are hand mixed once your order is placed, so that our perfumes arrive to you as fresh as possible. Please allow shipping time to accommodate our personal attention to your new items! Perfumes can be worn 24 hours after mixing, however for best results, wait at least 2 weeks after creation for the full bouquet to shine through!

All of our products are vegan and cruelty free! Also, they are phthalate free, paraben free, and CA Prop 65 compliant!

Directions:

For the body oil: apply to wrists and other pulse points. As your body heat warms up the oil, the scent will release. Oil based fragrances are heavier than sprays and wear closer to your body. Reapply as often as needed. We use light dry oils so that the oil base absorbs more quickly into your skin, leaving no oily or sticky residue.

For the spray: our sprays are alcohol based for a larger burst of fragrance upon applying. We do not use any synthetic additives in our products to increase longevity of our scents (making our products more natural for you to wear), so please reapply as needed. Please note: some people are more sensitive to alcohol based products, please test prior to normal use.

Ingredients in oils: organic jojoba oils, phthalate free fragrance and essential oils, and organic vitamin E oil.

Ingredients in sprays: denatured or grain alcohol, phthalate free fragrance and essential oils.

Warning: Spray is flammable! Do not use sprays near open flame or heat source! Do not ingest! Keep away from eyes, nose, and mouth. Keep away from children and pets. Do not apply oils to fabrics, may stain.

All skin types and body types are different, please test on a small area of skin prior to normal use. If reaction occurs, immediately discontinue use. If you are worried about allergies, please contact us for a complete list of ingredients/scents used in a particular product.
