Act I: To Love and To Leave

Lucia entered the Cathedral the morning after her wedding should have taken place.

Her fiancé died the night before the vows were to be spoken. The dress remained unworn. The future unraveled quietly.

She did not run from love.

She ran toward God.

For months she lived beneath vaulted ceilings and stained glass light, believing devotion would steady what grief had hollowed. Then she met Matteo, a seminarian preparing for vows of his own.

They did not intend to see each other.

But they did.

Act I is the beginning of that recognition.

The Scents of Act I

Cathedral

Frankincense, myrrh, rose, oudh

Sacred incense rising in golden light.Prayer wrapped in smoke and softened by rose.

Midnight Mass

Frankincense, myrrh, incense, oud, patchouli

Dark liturgy and candlelit devotion. Faith feels deepest at night… and so does doubt.

Ritual Smoke

Sacred incense, black cardamom, smoldering embers, vanilla birch, warm woods

Heat beneath restraint.Smoke that clings long after the flame has dimmed.

Midnight Manuscript

Leather, smoke, cedar, teakwood, patchouli, plums, violet, cinnamon

Ink-stained confession.Where longing takes shape in the margins.

Memento Mori

Oudh, peppercorn, blackberries, rose, myrrh, musk, anise

Remember that you will die.Remember that you have loved.

Painted Silence

Citrus, tea, matcha, cream, hay, ferns, petitigrain, cotton, musk, coconut, woods

Soft light through stained glass.Peace that feels almost convincing.

Act I is not yet betrayal.

It is awakening.

The vows remain unspoken. The doors remain open.
