Faeling’s Breath: Nightmilk

In the faeling nursery, bedtime always begins with Nightmilk.

The smallest faelings are gathered in as evening falls, each given a warm cup of rice milk and oats, sweetened with vanilla, cream, and a little sugar. Once sleepy bellies are full, they’re tucked into their tiny nests of moss, feathers, soft grasses, and scraps of old linen, wings folded close as the nursery grows quiet for the night.
