Leveret

A leveret is a young hare, small enough to disappear beneath the leaves and wise enough to stay very still when the world passes by.

Leveret opens tart and fresh, with bright rhubarb lending an almost rosy crispness before slowly giving way to ripe, creamy fig. As it settles on the skin, soft paper musk, cashmere, and cedar emerge, wrapping the fig in a warm, velvety softness, with just a whisper of moss lingering underneath.

It smells like freshly cut rhubarb, figs tucked into a linen-lined basket, the weathered pages of an old natural-history book, smooth cedar, soft fur, and a little hare curled quietly beneath the hedgerow.

Fresh and tart at first, then warm, creamy, woody, and wonderfully soft.
